The more you tell us the more we can help. Can you help us improve? After installing the anniversary update, I then also received an update for Adobe Flash a day later.
I just wondered if you had got the same problem with the loss of Flash, after carrying out the windows anniversary update. Apparently the windows 10 update. If you did still get the problem after the updates, then I cannot see any point in me re-activating the Vulnerability scanner to try it out again, until McAfee Intel security come up with a fix. I've also applied the anniversary version which did include some fixes for the embedded flash player KB and KB I've left the McAfee vulnerability scanner uninstalled and have no desire to try it to see if the problem occurs again. I'm perfectly happy to not use that "feature" ever again. I did have a problem with one of the windows update fixes downloading correctly - Security Update for Windows KB I had to go to the Microsoft website and download it myself in order to get it applied.
Sorry to bother you but the other week I received McAfee updates and after completion I then noticed that the Vulnerability scanner had then carried out an update check on my PC programmes, although the automatic scheduled scan was unticked. One of the updates shown by the scanner was Adobe Flash again, and I was bit wary after last time carrying out the update via the Vulnerability scanner, but decided to give it another go.
Before carrying out the update I created a restore point and this time after the update I found Adobe Flash worked okay and has been okay since. I know you reinstalled McAfee without the Vulnerability scanner activated, but I just wanted to let you know that after last weeks McAfee update the Adobe Flash problem I was experiencing seems to have either been fixed or it is just a coincidence.
Checking on the Intel Security site and Microsoft, I cannot find any mention of a fix being provided, so I will just see how things go, and put it down to that it must be an update from either of the companies that has cured the problem. I never received any kind of response from McAfee or anyone else either.
If I recall the problem correctly, it didn't affect the default user, but it broke the 2 other existing user accounts, and it also broke any new user accounts created after the bad update was applied. I've never re-activated the vulnerability scanner since then, and I'm happy with that approach.
